Race on the streets in a city in the southwest area of the United States, upgrading your car before competing in special events and trying to get away from police officers.
The action takes place in a fictitious city. However, the graphics make you feel like you're racing in a movie instead of playing a game. Most of the racing that you'll do in the game is trying to get away from police officers as well as bounty hunters who are trying to pull you over. Perform a few risky moves on the road to get away from them as fast as you can. They are hunting for you because of actions that you have performed in years past. You'll find some of the players from other versions of the game as well as a few people who you might have loved at one time. You'll get to choose the car that you want to race with and are able to upgrade your car once you start winning events.
With the help of the people you meet in the city, you'll devise plans to take over the city as well as surrounding areas. There are several new features in the game that can improve your racing style, but you'll have to rely on the driving skills that you possess if you want to get ahead in the game. A map is seen on the bottom of the screen so that you know where you're at in the city and where other drivers are located, including police officers. There are new engines available as well as a few other new upgrades along with different drifting styles and ways to maneuver corners. There is a large variety of cars to choose from, such as muscle cars and tuners depending on what kind of handling you enjoy and the design that you like.

The Fact Paced Racing Game in Back Once More
If you think the name Need for Speed sounds familiar, you would be right. In the last few years a large collection of games in the Need for Speed series have been released, all of which are aimed at adrenaline junkies who have a love for racing. Is Need for Speed Carbon excitingly new and different or simply a variation on a theme? Read on to find out.
Despite the rapid turnover of these games, Need for Speed Carbon does present gamers with a couple of new features. Firstly, we are introduced to the Wingman. This character has a love for destroying vehicles and offers some crazy dialogue and interactions to the game that make it feel a bit fresh and different.
The new boss race mode takes players on a crazy dash through the Canyons. These downhill missions are sure to get the adrenaline pumping as players hurtle down the Canyon to almost certain death. Controlling the car in this mission requires a lot of skill and the daring of players is really put to the test. You get points by staying as close to the leader as possible, while there is the risk that you will go hurling off the edge of the track at any moment.
However, the rest of the game is very similar to other Need for Speed games and does not really offer gamers anything different. As you would expect, there are more cars to choose from this time and some of the cars are really cool, but these cars could be obtained by simply purchasing an extension pack rather than another full game.
However, the story is rather interesting and is told in the quirky way that fans of Need for Speed have come to know and love. Some of the most popular characters from the other games make a return appearance, while gamers are also introduced to a collection of new characters. People who missed the action of the previous games will not be lost, as things are spelled out quite clearly.
Some of the new cars that players will have the chance to race include Ford’s remake of the Mustang and the Dodge Charger. These muscle cars feature different driving dynamics and make a big impression on the way in which the game plays out. Many of the races are tougher and faster than ever before, giving speed junkies a reason to celebrate.
The creators have learned from their previous mistakes and this time drifting around does not play a key role in the game. Players can still choose this option if they wish, but seeing as this was one of the options that many players slated when it was presented, many players will probably choose to skip this option as much as possible.
No matter how successful your game franchise is, you can’t simply stick an extra world at the end of an existing title and hope that players will think it is a whole new game. Need for Speed Carbon does offer a few new elements and options, but not nearly enough to make it a new game in its own right. However, the game is still a lot of fun and will be particularly appreciated by people who have not played the other Need for Speed games.

Need for Speed: Carbon takes the classic racing game to the next level and sends you on an adventure around the American Southwest.
When you think of racing simulation games, the name Need for Speed always comes to mind. This game series is so popular that it even inspired a film that became one of the hit sleepers of the year. As the 10th installment in the series, you might think that Need for Speed: Carbon can't possibly be as fun as the originals, but it provides just as much fun and maybe even more fun than you expected.
Like many of the other games in the series, it combines elements of racing and arcade play. You start out as a man on the run with the local police department chasing you. The game sends you on an adventure to clear your good name and make up for the mistakes you made in the past at the same time that you work criminal masterminds in the city and attempt to take control back from the cops.
One reason why Need for Speed: Carbon is so popular is because it was the first game in the franchise that let players draft. Drafting beside or behind another car takes some of the wind off your car and allows you to go even faster. As your speed increases, you must retain control of your car or risk running right into the wall and demolishing your ride.
As you race against computer generated players, your reputation will grow. You'll eventually have the chance to add more racers to your team. The game lets you select from three different characters, and each one can help you in your races as they block other cars, keep you safe on the track, and find ways for you to increase your lap times through the use of shortcuts.
Need for Speed: Carbon features some of the same vehicles that you'll find in other games in the franchise. Though many of those vehicles are muscle cars, you'll also find imports and smaller vehicles that you can buy with the money you win in races. As you build your reputation up within the game, you may never want to put down your controller.
